Joan Cornellà - Gonnadie

I have been staring at this print for years & I finally got around to ordering it!
I think Joan Cornellà does fantastic work, it's weird, quirky & bizarre. They're is generally better known for their comics then their paintings, but I enjoy both & I love the cute, but nihilistic style of their paintings!

It was thankfully very easy to find a frame for this, as it's a A3 print. It is currently the only thing on the segment of wall that I hung it. It definitely draws attention! My photo truly doesn't do it justice however!

In the last few months Joan Cornella has shared a couple of other paintings on their facebook, that I desperately hope they decide to produce prints of! They're so darn cute! I absolutely love the bright colours & the simple aggressive statements! I feel they'd flow perfectly with my Gonnadie print.

These pieces fit my collection of art perfectly! Cute & aggressive(any variation of cute/naughty, cute/psychotic etc.) is basically my entire life goal for my walls & shelves. The ridiculously adorable nature of the Gonnadie print has added a little something extra to my home!

I highly recommend Joan Cornellàs work! I was going to share a couple of their comics, but I'll leave it to my readers to seek those out & leave the focus here on their other work.

You can see more of their art on facebook & Instagram or check out their website!

GID Portalplasm Cliffs Display - Amusing Mini Paranormals

I love this little shelf! Angela Pileggi of Amusing Mini Paranormals makes some amazingly fun stuff! When I saw her resin displays, I instantly needed one! Something a bit different & it created more display space for my toys! I went with the glow in the dark version(I've yet to test it's GID quality mind you), partly because I wanted more GID in my life & also because it's green & I like green(sometimes simple appeal is enough)!

Seriously though, how great is this thing? Small & easy to mount. About 7 inches tall & enough space for five 2 inch toys! Currently, I've chosen to put my Rampage Toys 'Little Unicorn' toys on the shelf. This resin is exceptionally strong! I chatted with Angela about her work & was told, she tests her resin by throwing it at the floor. I don't know if this was true or an exaggeration, but honestly it wouldn't surprise me!

I was sent a little extra gift as well! A pink glitter ecto-rex. I'm going to hold onto this little guy, maybe give it away in a contest! Really hard to capture it's shininess in a photo! I always love a free gifty & I LOVE Amusing Mini Paranormals 'drippy' styled stuff. Really fun designs!

I'm totally intending to buy a second cliff display! I'm officially saving wall space for another one! In fact, a beautiful multi-coloured shelf was shared by Amusing Mini Paranormals recently & I'm desperate to own one!

Side-note! Amusing Mini Paranormals released a new design this week! Cinemasaurus, their first new design since 2016 & it's a cutie! They're working on a bunch of other new designs at the moment as well! I highly recommend keeping an eye on their social media to see the things that come!

I've had a crappy cash-flow this year, so this is actually my first resin item of the year(a little shocking, as we're beyond the half-way mark...) & I couldn't be happier with it!

You can find Angela Pileggi & her Amusing Mini Paranormals on facebook & instagram.

Moggie - Jink Wu x Unusual Creation Club

I haven't bought a lot this year(part of the reason this blog has been quiet lately), but I couldn't resist Moggie by Jink Wu x Unusual Creation Club!
I first become aware of Moggie when Remjie Malham(amazing artist, check out their stuff!) shared one on facebook they'd managed to score at BTS(Beijing Toy Show). About a week later The Toy Chronicle blogged about it, including how I could go about getting on a waiting list to buy one! I honestly thought I'd have to wait longer, but within a couple of days of sending an e-mail, I'd paid for my toy & it was on it's way!

This toy is adorable! Well, maybe that's subjective. I think it's hilarious, the juxtaposition of the cuteness with the distasteful nature of the subject matter! Honestly a simple, but effective toy concept! It was destined to end up on my shelves, I mean honestly, it's a cat(I think it's a cat anyway :P) sucking the blood out of a bird, it's quite a visual!

This little vinyl toy is about 4inches tall & has one point of articulation; it's head can move. I didn't fiddle with it too much, I believe the straw can be removed too. I had a hard time trying to capture the shade of green in my photos, it's not quite a neon green, but it's still quite bright. I'm a big fan of green, so this choice of colour for the first Moggie release worked for me! I also think it's little tail is a nice touch!

I love this little thing, it makes me wish I put more effort into dusting(hence the weird angle of the 'displayed' photo :P). My first toy of the year & it's the perfect combination of cute & macabre!

I'm unsure how limited Moggie is, but I don't think they've sold out yet! If you'd like to add one to your collection, e-mail UnusualCreationClub@gmail.com or pop onto Unusual Creation Clubs Facebook page to enquire about one! Only $55USD! It's definitely worth every cent!
