Tinbot [ black, lady ]

Somewhere I saw a picture of a Tinbot(probably one of the many people I follow on Facebook) & instantly needed one in my life! They're manufactured by Trendex, a company who create many fun & innovative designs!
The Tinbots are so cheap that money wasn't an object, but colour decisions can be difficult & currently Tinbot World offer 4 versions of this awesome concept!

Of course, being me, I went with the orange & black option(really the decision wasn't that difficult, I'm bias on the subject of orange :P). It's one of the 'lady' Tinbots, with a rather cute little robot face! Even the packaging(& business card!) are perfectly paired to the toys!

The Tinbots are about 2x1.5x1inches when all packed away in their tins. They consist of 6 pieces. 5 magnetised body parts & the tin. They're also super poseable(tragically I'm not the most creative photographer :P)!

This really is just a super fun toy! If i had more I could mix & match the pieces too! I'm tempted to buy more already & I hope for many more colour options in the future!
For less then $10 including shipping, this is definitely a favourite amongst my recent acquisitions!
Don't forget to check out Tinbot World on Facebook & bigcartel

Clect - Collect Together

I want to share with all my readers a great collecting resource!
Clect is the newest thing in online collecting. It's still a pretty young website, evolving & getting better all the time! I've been a member pretty much since the beginning & the site just continues to improve(they're also always willing to take any suggestions you might have!) . A major focus on pop culture specifically. It's basically the social media collecting platform we all need!

The guys at Clect have been working tirelessly to get their cell phone apps up & running too! You can find the iphone app Here, you can also sign up to to be notified when the Android app is ready Here.

Now I want to discuss some specifics.
On Clect you can create 'Cards' & 'Packs'. Uploading 'Cards' is super easy(& the site has walk-through tours to help you learn!). Upload the image, title it, give it a story & choose if it's private or public. Done! Hashtagging is also encouraged :P
You can also add your 'Cards' to 'Packs'. You can create your own new 'Packs', or add your 'Cards' to existing public 'Packs'(you can also make private ones!). They're a great way to share more focused collections, or to find people with similar tastes to your own!

The 'Packs' are one of my favourite features on Clect. I love sharing my collection with others & it's always amazing when I find people who can appreciate the stuff I have! The Packs are constantly being fine-tuned, I expect they'll be a favourite amongst most Clect users soon enough.
Currently my favourite Packs are 'Resin & Vinyl Toys' & 'Autographs!'. They're both public & I've love to see them grow! If you're a member & have any suitable Cards to add to my Packs that would be fantastic & I look forward to all contributions!

So come on! What are you waiting for? If you haven't joined yet just click here:

To quote Eric Cartman(South Park) - 'Join the online sensation before we all murder you.'

Ron English x Pearl Jam - Falla Sheep - Monochrome

So, thanks to JazzyDan(Fugi.me) I have myself another awesome toy. My very first Ron English toy(how sad is that?), one of his new Falla Sheep. I'm only seeking 3 of the colour variations of this toy, thanks to JazzyDan, I'm one down on my list. The toy is surprisingly awesome. A little bigger then I'd envisioned, articulated arms & his awesome little anti-NRA rifle accessory was a completely necessary addition to the toy design.

I'm really in love with this toy design. A wolf in sheep's clothing, the concept greatly amuses me. Seriously so much detail on these toys though, makes me wish I was a better photographer(also, ignore the randomness of the pic, been moving stuff around).

Such a great new addition to my collection, so happy with it! Can't wait to seek out the Brown & Black versions in the future!
As always, I apologise for neglecting my blog lately. I spent my week cleaning & decorating in preparation for Christmas. It was time consuming & exhausting.

Micro 'My Little Unicron' & Cupcake Plane Kit - Rampage Toys

Received another order from Rampage Toys today. Always an exciting way to wake-up. Ordered myself one of their Micro 'My Little Unicorn' toys in yellow vinyl. It's adorable, I hope to buy more of them when more colours are released in the future. I also managed to pick up one of the last Cupcake Plane model kits. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna leave it unpainted, mostly because my 'small detail' painting skills are quite lacking & I wouldn't want to destroy something so awesome. It has a basic nail to use for it's stand. That aspect amuses me greatly, one simply can't go wrong with something so tiny & ridiculous. Rampage Toys Cupcake Planes are also pretty awesome due to the fact they're made up of three pieces. Magnets keep the cupcake & plane blades in place. So cute & simple, I'm actually considering buying a few other colours just for the novelty aspect.

Rampage Toys have also released their Halloween selection:

- Splatterhouse GID Kyuuketsushi
- 'Tricks and Treats' Bobby and Harry set
- X-Ray Kowaillas(5 varieties)
- Orange/Black marbled vinyl Ugly Unicorns

Absolutely fantastic group of toys. I'm seriously considering buying one or two of the 'X-Ray Kowaillas' & generally, I'm not a big fan of that sculpt. Yet here I sit, contemplating an exception. I'm a huge fan of skeleton toys & orange/black, so Halloween is a great time for me & toys, assuming I have the money to spend. In this case, I may have to wait. Maybe I'll be lucky & there will be a couple still available next week.

So many new toys from Rampage lately, I'm in awe over their creativity(& motivation). Hopefully I'll acquire more in the near future. However, I'm currently saving for a rather large toy/art purchase, so my flow of purchases might be a little low for a while. All worth it though, to own the things one truly wants, sacrifices must be made now & then. I will blog about a couple I've had to say 'no' to recently to afford other, higher priority toys.

Mini Toasted Marshall - 64 Colors

So, the weekend is here, I have no money(again), so I thought it's time to blog, save myself browsing things all day that I can't afford. Loads of new toys released this week that I'm dying for, but today I just wanna share one that arrived a couple of days ago. The mini toasted Marshall by 64 Colors.

So adorable, honestly cannot wait to get more 64 colors toys, they're sickeningly cute. Hoping to hunt down the full-sized Marshall soon(only an inch bigger) & want some of the Gumdrops as well, because, well, they're adorable.
Haven't quite decided if I want other colour versions of Marshall yet, it is tempting. For now though, I settled for the 'he's been tortured but he's still smiling' version(yes, my mind works in... interesting ways). A touch of violence on my collection of 'cute' always goes well with me.

I have a couple of other toys from the week to blog about this weekend, bit of a slow toy week, but 'some' is better then 'none'. I've actually taken some time this week to focus on my art. Did a few hours of work on my computer & finally got a printer cable. Plan to spend part of my weekend scanning sketches(& possibly more computer art). If i feel confident enough, I made add a link or two to my work in my next blog. This is a good example of my life 'distractions' however. One person, trying to do a million things, so as always, I apologise for the delay between blog entries.

Gloss-Black & Gloss-White QiQi - Ziqi x Creo Design

Thanks to my persistence(perhaps a better word is 'harassment'?) I have two new toys I'm very proud to own. Due to my insane obsession with Creo Design & Ziqi(monster Little) I took it upon myself to see if I could hunt down more versions of QiQi. Searching through photos I learned there was at least two more versions(I already owned 3). So I contacted Creo Design(I had been communicating... or harassing Chris since he made Tooth Decay) asking if he was able to source my sought-for QiQi's. Chris suggested I contact Ziqi directly. I'm a little nervous about contacting new people, but the search for epic cuteness pushed me to write to them.
I was in luck, Ziqi thought they may have one or two hiding around. Happy to say, they managed to find two blanks for me, one gloss-black & one gloss-white.

I didn't even know a blank-black version existed, so think of my joy from this news! Two more QiQi for my 'army of cute'. Still one more QiQi to hunt for, the black & silver version. One day my army shall be complete!
The black one is beautiful, can't explain it, but there's something about the texture of the toy that just makes it shine is a unique way. The white one is almost pearlescent, very unexpected. They look beautiful next to each other, hopefully I'll have a little display tank for them soon.

So happy to have made a new artist friend & about successfully acquiring new 'cute' for my shelves. I'm simply loving Facebook lately, helping me meet new, artistically inclined, people. It helps motivate & inspire me & gives me like-minded people to communicate with.

A side note on 'shelves'. Only another week or two until I'll have my new desk. I will share photos once it's all set up. I'm hoping to dedicate at least two shelves to toys over time, but we'll see how things go. The QiQi army however, will most definitely be making it onto my new shelves!

Black Gloss QiQi - Ziqi x Creo Designs

Finally got my black gloss QiQi, like the other two, designed by Ziqi & produced by Creo Design. Probably lucky I even found one to buy I suppose, but it took a long time to arrive, I was mildly concerned for a while there. But beyond that, the little critter arrived & now I have all three.

I can't get over how cute QiQi is. Not my usual choice of toy, but sometimes cuteness wins me over. There's still a black & silver version out there I'd like to hunt down, and a couple of variations, only time will tell if I'll ever acquire them. For now I'm quite happy with my little set of cuteness.

Additional though, Ziqi now have a society6 store, all his cute designs, available as prints, or phone covers, or my personal favourite, pillow cases. There's nothing better then uber cuteness, on a pudgy puffy cushion. You should all go visit his store & but everything! I'm hoping to buy a pillow or two in the near future, they will bring some much needed 'cute' to my home.

Chou-Cho the Wing Monster - Rampage Toys Edition - Grumble Toys

So happy about my new toy! My first Kaiju!
Now, to emphasise why this toy appealed to me, I must embrace my geekiness. I'm a huge fan of the Buffy: The Vampire Slayer series & this little toy SO reminded me of one of the creatures from the show, that I simply had to own it! The Queller Demon from 'Listening to Fear'. Ok, so it's incredibly strange reasoning to want a toy, but I'm weird like that.

This purchase is of course, as a result of my new obsession with Rampage Toys. Browsing through their store seems to automatically result in me spending money. Additionally, looking up the artist Grumble Toys, I've learned there's at least another two version of this toy. I'm seriously considering buying another! For now however, I have the adorable dark green version. Incredibly creepy & incredibly cute too. This toy is everything a toy should be!

The arrival of this toy was slightly delayed. Turns out one cannot use a box with the word 'produce' on it, to ship things to Australia. So my package was sent back to Rampage Toys due to a tomato sauce box. Due to the delay however, they sent me a little something extra. A little cupcake dude keshi called 'Micro Cake'. He's based on their Cupcake Kaiju character. So adorable & a great addition to my keshi collection. It's always nice to find something a little extra in ones packages afterall. So today, I'm happy.

As always, apologys for my crappy photography. I really need to buy a photography tent, it's hard to prioritise for one when I'm much more inclined to buy toys.
Hopefully I'll have another toy or two arrive this week in fact(one never knows with Australia Posts crappy work ethics), might buy another one or two if I have the funds too. One must plan for future blog posts afterall.
Also, I suppose I should mention the little signature image I've created to end my blogs with. Basically I just found the end of my blogs didn't look 'right', so I created a little blob-dude with a hat. I may one day try sculpting him, but that will be FAR into the future I think. I do think he's cute though & it's nice to have a kind of 'mascot' for my blog.

Greasebat & Friends Gummi Play Set - Jeff Lamm

A truly spontaneous purchase, the Greasebat & Friends Gummi Play Set. I saw these get listed on rotocasted & simply couldn't resist buying a set for myself. Jeff Lamm does adorable work(I mean, if you're into kaiju) & this is the first time I just happened to have some spare funds to acquire some of his toys.
Unbox Industries were only asking $13 per set(available in orange or pink), the temptation was just too much. These are just sickeningly cute & made of rubber! Love rubber toys, they're so trashy, but in a good way! I'm so happy about these. Who doesn't love a dash of orange amongst their toys & they're only about 6cm tall, adorable.

Dead Plushy - Cyanide & Happiness

Explosm released their 'Dead Plushy' a couple of weeks ago, I ordered one the moment they were available. Mostly because I find C & H extremely amusing. One of these days I hope to acquire all their books as well.

This is my first C & H plushy, I will definitely acquire more in the future. This is a personal favourite however(though I would like to track down one of their naked plushies!). I'm thinking of displaying him separately from the rest of my plush collection, or perhaps keep him where he'd be appreciated the most.

Definitely seems like an appropriate shelf for a dead plushy, it seems like the company one would associate himself with. Many new furniture plans for the near future however(of course I'll share photos when I get my toys sorted), so who knows where things may end up.

Rottweiler Herpes - Johnny Ryan

Ordered my first Rottweiler Herpes recently(planning to buy another soon), it arrived today. Absolutely brilliant toy, the embodiment of Johnny Ryans infamous villain(hence the swastika) from his Prison Pit comic. I picked up the first colourway from Monster Worship. One of there SDCC 2012 releases. They have all 4 colours of Rottweiler Herpes currently available(amongst many other brilliant characters).

I'm just in awe over this toy. It's an absolutely epic addition to my collection. I really hope I manage to acquire at least one more before they all sell out.

I'd like to point out I haven't actually read the Prison Pit comic(though I was aware of Johnny Ryans art). I plan on buying the 4 issues available & give the toy some context, but what initially attracted me to the toy was it's socially unacceptable nature. Expect more offensive, controversial or just plan crazy toys in the future. I have issues(many) & like to try & express myself with the things I own, being offensive just happens to be part of that.

Cuddlehard - Submission edition

Thanks to man-e-toys I recently stumbled across a very awesome keshi toy recently. A limited edition version of turboPISTOLAs 'Cuddlehard' figure, the Submission Edition.

Limited to 15 & blind-bagged. Each comes outfitted with ball gags that have little leather straps & metal studs. Available in either purple(10/15), Pink(2/15), Black(2/15) & one mystery colour. Each comes with a silver on black block print & custom header card. I received the purple version.

I'm quite happy with this toy, it's rather unique. A rather fantastic addition to my keshi collection & a nice touch of 'bondage' for my shelves(expect more of that in the future!). Now I just need to find something appropriate to display the print in. Why are all my art pieces cumbersome sizes?

Red QiQi - Ziqi x Creo Design

During my recent toy shopping binge, I decided to acquire a couple of toys from Creo Designs. As much as I love punk, gore, horror, surrealism etc. in the toys I buy, I'm also attracted to, what I can only describe as 'sickeningly cute' toys. As a result, I simply couldn't say no to the Ziqi x Creo Design toy collaboration, QiQi.

I got both of the red versions(tragically the black one was sold out, I'm planning to hunt for one on eBay soon). Original Red, limited to 450pc & the Gloss Red, limited to 200pc. They're only 3inches tall & absolutely adorable with their oversized heads. There's still a few available(on sale) in the Creo Design store. Very low price for something so limited & mine arrived within 6days of making the order(crazy fast shipping).

It's always great to pick up something so cute for my collection. Hopefully I'll have somewhere appropriate to display them soon. I really need to stop buying toys & maybe buy a few new pieces of furniture. The endless space restriction of the collector. First-world problems are such an annoyance. Of course, even with my space issues, I'm sitting here considering future purchases from the Creo Design store. I recommend checking it out. It's full of cuteness & sometimes, something a little creepy(as the Tooth Decay piece I blogged about recently would suggest). Definitely my kind of toys.

Trexi & Gwin - Kozik & Pardee

I received a package in the mail today(finally my new toys are beginning to arrive, sometimes it really sucks living in Australia), from Tainted Visions, one of many great toy stores on eBay(I believe they also sell through storenvy). Fantastic prices & very helpful communication. I'll be buying from them again in the future, guaranteed.
Todays little items, are the Frank Kozik black Anarchy Trexi(my first non-A Clockwork Orange Kozik toy) & the Captain Singer Gwin by Alex Pardee.

This Trexi was released for SDCC in 2007, limited to 500 pieces. I was personally surprised I got him so cheap(no such luck with the white version). Of course, it worked with my current goal, trying to put a dent in my toy wishlist, by acquiring as many toys as possible, at the lowest price possible. This is difficult, as my income isn't particularly high, but it's just nice to buy a few things now & then. Even if they are the smaller or cheaper items I'm seeking. One day I'll be rich & start acquiring larger & more expensive toys!

I am truly happy to have my first Alex Pardee toy however. His work is beautifully disturbing & the most I became of his Captian Singer Gwin, I sought it out on eBay. It's deliciously violent & nightmarish, like a lot of Pardees vinyl toy work. Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to add more of his toys to my collection in the future.

Both are tiny & adorable toy & both are by artists I very much respect. They have amazing skill in my opinion & I'm glad to have finally begun acquiring their work. Their styles flow well with my own.

Animal People - Konosuke Chishima

I've recently developed an obsession with Japanese toys(can you blame me?), so ordered a few over the last couple of weeks. Stumbled across Rampage Toys during my hunt, who stock many fantastic kaiju, sofubi & keshi toys. This is where I found, what are probably the cutest toys I've ever laid my eyes on. Animal People(Doubutsu Ningen) by Konosuke Chishima.
Jon Malmstedt from Rampage Toys met Konosuke at Design Festa 37 & grabbed a small supply of these adorable little keshi. They come in five variations, bear, chicken, koala, octopus or shark. They're less then 2inches tall & beautifully simplistic, but affective.

(image from Rampage Toys)

Tragically I was only able to get four out of the set. The shark version has sold out. I'll be keeping my eyes open in the hope of finding one in the future.
I personally adore the octopus version though, it screams 'Cthulhu' to me. It amuses me greatly. Also, how adorable are those little header card? I mean seriously, they were the decision maker for me, love cute packaging.

Hopefully I'll be buying a few small display boxes to randomly place around my home soon. That's where I plan to put these little guys & other potential Rampage purchases. I'm incredibly tempted by their Ugly Unicorn keshi, it's so tiny & kitschy. It even comes in a custom box, there's nothing cuter & more ridiculous then a 1inch toy in it's own display box. I shall order myself one or two in the near future!

(image from Rampage Toys)

I look forward to seeing future work by Konosuke Chishima & will of course, maintain a long-term obsession with Rampage Toys. Always love a touch of 'tiny & sickenly cute' around my home now & then.
